Spring League 2009

The much-awaited Spring League kicks of the Pitch & Putt season at Riverdale, Nenagh this Sunday morning 01/02/09. Times of play will be from 9.30am to 1.30pm and entry will be €10. Riverdale who are the current holders will be hoping to continue their dominance in this competition and reports suggest that the Riverdale faithful are practicing since early December in order to retain this coveted title. Hillview, runners-up last year I am sure will be hoping to go one better this year but Riverdale in recent times has been an unhappy venue for the Clonmel contingent and they will be hoping to rectify this come Sunday. Lakeside, who have the players capable of performing to the highest level, but never seem to be consistent enough in the league will be very anxious to get back to the final. Larkspur Park, certainly have the potential to challenge for honours but could struggle this year with playing numbers with the re-emergence of Tipperary Hills taking back some of their players. Speaking about the aforementioned Tipperary Hills, I am extremely pleased to confirm that this great Club will once again compete in the Spring League. In recent times, this club along with old and new members have ensured that “The Hills” is back open for business and we so look forward to seeing some of the friendly faces once again on Sunday. Players from every club are urged to support this competition and more importantly support your Club in their quest to be crowned Spring League Champions for 2009.
